A West St. Paul church is holding a garage sale to benefit local charities.

It’s a two-and-a-half day garage sale at Salem Lutheran Church. The church is donating most of the proceeds to local charities. They started collecting items to sell over the summer. Church leaders say they have rooms packed full of donated items.

The federal government has denied Minnesota's request to add Dakota County to a disaster declaration for recent severe storms and flooding.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency notified the state about the rejection late Tuesday.

A 19-year-old Burnsville woman is accused of cutting her brother with knives during an argument over their home's Wi-Fi connection, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday.

The incident happened on the 12900 block of Penn Avenue South in Burnsville just before midnight on Aug. 15.

Two Charged in South St. Paul Drive-By Shooting

Two South St. Paul people have been charged in connection with a drive-by shooting.

Desean Thomas, 22, and Breanna Harris, 21, were charged Friday, Aug. 22, in connection with the Aug. 19 shooting. Thomas is charged with second-degree attempted murder, drive-by shooting and possession of a firearm by an ineligible person. Harris is charged with second-degree assault.
