Fire Marshal: Replace Batteries in CO, Smoke Detectors this Weekend

This year when we are all turning our clocks back over the weekend, State Fire Marshal Bruce West is urging Minnesotans to put fresh batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

According to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, fire alarms need to be checked monthly and batteries changed at least once a year. The alarms should be replaced after 10 years.

Complaint: Man Running from Police Hid in Farmington Corn Field

A 56-year-old man has been charged Tuesday with a felony after allegedly trying to hide from officers in a Farmington corn field.

Authorities say the incident started at 140th Street and Cedar Avenue around 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 22.

IMAX Theater Closes this Weekend to Install New Seats

The Great Clips IMAX Theatre at the Minnesota Zoo is getting a big upgrade.

The theater is installing 482 state-of-the-art rocker seats. The $1.2 million renovation includes the seats, an upgrade to the IMAX projection system, and a new ticketing system.

Because of the renovation, the IMAX Theatre will close Wednesday through Sunday this week.
