An Anoka Technical College faculty member was recently honored with a national award for quality online learning initiatives.

Deborah Allen was given the 2012 Making a Difference for Students Award by Quality Matters. The organization supports quality assurance efforts of academic institutions and K-12 systems.

The musical version of Sleepy Hollow is making its way to the stage in Hastings. There are only a few days left to reserve your tickets.

Sleepy Hollow is a full length musical that’s family-friendly by the NewBridge Theatre Company. There’s also a show called Haunted Hastings with accounts of the paranormal in and around the city.

Halloween Bonfire on Hold for Now

The City of Mendota Heights says the Halloween bonfire at Mendota Plaza and the collection of brush from residents for the fire has been put on hold.

There's currently a county-wide ban on outdoor fires, including recreation fires, due to the dry weather conditions.

An open house next week in Apple Valley will give community members a chance to help shape the future of transit and development in the city following the launch of the new bus rapid transit system next June.

The open house will address what development ideas are being discussed, and how new land use ideas and regulations will impact residents, businesses and the community.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Noise Oversight Committee will be hosting an open house in Eagan next month to provide information on proposed procedures that could change flight tracks.
