The Dakota County Board of Commissioners authorized a levy decrease of 0.20 percent for its 2013 property tax levy.
The commissioners voted unanimously for the decrease Tuesday.
The levy reduction and other changes to the tax base means the owner of a median valued home will see, on average, a 5 percent decrease in the county portion of their property tax bill, the county says.
In October, a free workshop in Rosemount will offer the chance to learn more about solar energy options.
You'll be able to learn about the basics of solar energy, as well as incentives and rebates for installing solar power systems. The workshop also features a panel of people who've had solar power systems installed on their home or business.
