'Roundy's Foundation Tour' Benefits Food Shelves in Plymouth, Lakeville

The company that owns Rainbow Foods is making donations to local food pantries Thursday.

The Roundy’s Foundation will make stops at eight pantries in Plymouth and Lakeville as part of the Focused on Feeding Families Tour. Each location will get a donation of food and money valued at more than $4,000, including more than 2,300 pounds of food.

21 US Army Reserve Soldiers Return from Year-Long Deployment

With a year-long deployment behind them, soldiers will get a warm welcome home Friday at Fort Snelling.

A ceremony for the 21 U.S. Army Reserve soldiers will be held at 1 p.m. Fifteen of the soldiers are from Minnesota, and all are part of the 847th Human Resources Company.

A Minnesota man is planning to walk 300 miles from International Falls to the Twin Cities – all to help those less fortunate.

Gary Fitch will complete his "Minnesota Miracle" walk in an effort to raise a "Perpetual Fountain of Food" for those having trouble putting food on the table.

Thrivent Financial Pledges to Match $25K in Change Donated to Red Kettles Saturday

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has pledged to match up to $25,000 in coins donationed to Twin Cities Red Kettles on Saturday, Dec. 14.

The matching gift comes as the Salvation Army announced they are behind in their Christmas campaign goal by more than $500,000.
