Local Group Donates School Supplies to Family of Fallen Mendota Heights Officer

A large donation will be made Tuesday for the family of a fallen officer.

Mendota Heights police officer Scott Patrick was killed during a traffic stop in late July.

On Tuesday, the group Wives Behind the Badge will hand off school supplies and donations they’ve gathered for the two daughters he leaves behind as well as other children in the community.

Davanni’s is kicking off its fifth annual food drive Monday.

The restaurant is teaming up with the Emergency Foodshelf Network to help stock shelves for those in need. The organization says the donations are needed even more during the summer months to help children who are out of school for the summer and don’t have access to a school lunch program.

Rosemount City Council Approves New Police Chief

The Rosemount Police Department has a new chief.

The Rosemount City Council approved Mitchell Scott as the Chief of the Rosemount Police Department on Tuesday night. He was one of three finalists for the job.

Scott is a captain with the Apple Valley Police Department right now. In August, he will replace Rosemount Police Chief Eric Werner.
